NORRN May newsletter
In this newsletter, we share more details about the upcoming 4th Annual NORRN conference on June 16th and highlight a recent discussion on open research practices.
4th Annual NORRN conference
For this year’s upcoming Norwegian Reproducibility Network (NORRN) annual conference, we are joining forces with the Centre for Medical Ethics at University of Oslo for a national discussion on Responsible Open Science.
This year’s conference will cover how research ethics values can best align with open science practices, and explore how open science can support diverse research practices across disciplines and address both global and local inequalities. We will also invite dialogue on how open science practices, infrastructures, and policies can meet complex societal challenges while building sustainable and inclusive research futures.
There will be a possibility to participate either in-person (Oslo, Bergen, or Tromsø) or online.
For a preliminary program and list of speakers, see this event page.
Registration is required, you can register using this link.
A recorded discussion on open research practices
NORRN steering committee members Daniel Quintana and Agata Bochynska recently had an open research discussion as part of a monthly seminar series run by the Department of Psychology Open Science Initiative at the University of Oslo.
The discussion covered various topics, including whether open science is a 'fad', if the benefits of open science outweigh the extra time taken to implement these practices, how psychology can responsibly develop open science practices, and the open science services offered by the University of Oslo library.
This discussion was posted on the NORRN YouTube page, where you can also find recordings from other past events.
